Surgical Orthodontics
Coordinated orthodontic and surgical care for complex bites, planned with trusted oral surgeons.
Surgical orthodontics is recommended for certain adults whose jaw alignment cannot be corrected with orthodontics alone. It involves orthodontics combined with orthognathic surgery (jaw surgery).
Dr. Sarit aligns your teeth before and after surgery and plans every step with a trusted oral & maxillofacial surgeon.
1. Orthodontic Preparation Treatment begins with braces or clear aligners to position your teeth in the ideal location before surgery. 2. Corrective Jaw Surgery Once your teeth are properly aligned, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon performs surgery to reposition the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both into their ideal position. 3. Finishing the Smile After surgery, orthodontic treatment continues for several months to fine-tune your bite and ensure your smile is healthy, balanced, and stable.
Surgical orthodontics serves adults with skeletal bite problems: pronounced underbites, open bites or jaw asymmetry that braces alone would only disguise. It's a bigger commitment with life-changing returns in chewing, speech and breathing.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about surgical orthodontics.
Adults with significant jaw discrepancies that braces or aligners alone can't correct.
We coordinate closely with an oral surgeon: braces align the teeth, surgery aligns the jaws, then braces finish the bite.
The full process typically spans 18–30 months, including the pre- and post-surgical phases.
It's a bigger commitment, but it's the definitive fix for skeletal bite problems.
Plan for about 2–3 weeks away from work or school after surgery; orthodontic visits resume soon after.
A trusted oral and maxillofacial surgeon performs the procedure itself, while Dr. Sarit plans and manages every orthodontic phase before and after it. You keep one familiar doctor guiding the whole plan from the first scan to the final retainer.
The orthodontic phases come as one all-inclusive fee; the surgeon's fee is separate, and medically necessary jaw surgery often carries insurance coverage. We help with the documentation, and payment plans and CareCredit cover the orthodontic side.
